This role is responsible for the day-to-day management and requirements of packaging from multiple suppliers for new and existing products. This position will provide support in sourcing initiatives and commodity strategies to identify suppliers, provide competitive pricing and implement effective sourcing tactics. Tasks performed will be associated with supporting business growth and delivering on service, quality and cost objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Support goals and objectives as established by Procurement Management, with emphasis on strategic packaging sourcing and alliances with suppliers. Evaluate, manage and negotiate various vendor costs, quality control, and distribution capabilities to make suggestions or selections, as necessary. Manage the strategy and bid process for packaging items; Review, analyze and coordinate bids for evaluation and selection. Work with internal departments, such as Marketing, Quality Assurance, Research and Development, Logistics, Accounts Payable and multiple suppliers on new and existing product developments and lead the selection process. Assist and support new product introductions, line extensions and promotions with timely execution of contracts to meet respective shipment dates. Manage suppliers by monitoring their performance and feedback; Address any issues or problems as they arise. Negotiate contractual arrangements between Isagenix and selected vendors; Suggest alternatives or amendments to suit the customers priorities and uphold authorized fund limits. Prepare clear, accurate, and concise reports, specifications, correspondence and other written materials. Process orders, handle routine interactions with customers/suppliers and provide a service that is customer friendly. Create and implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high levels of service and quality. Keep abreast of product and material requirements.
Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution or equivalent. 4 years of packaging purchasing experience. Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and able to coordinate/manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Bachelors degree in supply chain, business, finance, or related discipline. 6 years of packaging purchasing experience. Experience in a food or pharmaceutical packaging sourcing or procurement role. Professional experience in direct supplier negotiation, contract and vendor management and pricing/costs decisions.
